Lemon water is a popular everyday drink. This is a result of the fact that this prepared drink successfully eliminates accumulated toxins in the body, and at the same time, it improves the function of the digestive system.
Amazing natural cleansing properties of the lemon water, and its ability to increase detoxification due to the lemon’s bitterness, “which activates the bile flow, which helps emulsify and remove fat soluble toxins.”
This is more than enough information for lemon water for you to start drinking it from tomorrow morning!
Always bear in mind to not forget one important ingredient in the preparation of your glass of lemon water, add some lemon zest!
The lemon skin contains the flavonoid limonin, and that’s where the detox properties come from. The added lemon zest will help you make use of all the benefits that this drink offers.
To conclude, the next time you prepare your glass of hot lemon water, remember to add at least half a teaspoon of lemon zest to it, which will provide you with maximum health benefits.
But remember, lemon water (like limes, grapefruits and apple cider water) can damage your teeth enamel with time. To avoid this use this tips when drinking lemon water.
1.Dilute lemon juice in 8 oz of water – I would do 1/2 cup + 3 tbsp boiling water + rest cold water.
2.Drink lemon water with a straw.
3.Rinse your mouth right after drinking lemon water.
4.Avoid brushing teeth for 60 minutes after.
5.Use soft toothbrush and avoid aggressive brushing.
Here is the recipe for making a lemon water:
1/4 cup cold water*
1/3 cup boiling water*
In a glass, squeeze lemon juice with lemon reamer; discard seeds if necessary. This lemon juicer also looks good and might be better than mine because it catches the seeds. Add water, stir and drink while warm.
*To make water warm, I usually mix boiling water from the kettle (I hope you have one?!) and fridge filtered water. Another option is to turn off kettle before water reaches boiling. You just have to wait by the kettle and turn it off on time.
